Vanguard Recognized by Illinois Network

The Illinois Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) Network recently announced that two District 214 schools, Elk Grove High School and Vanguard School, have earned recognition for their outstanding efforts in implementing PBIS for the 2011-12 school year at the "Start-Up" level. The PBIS Network's recognition includes expanding and sustaining the PBIS initiative, which is a process for creating safer and more effective schools. » Continue Reading

Vanguard Receives an iPad Grant

Vanguard School's staff recently was notified that the school would receive iPad tablets to develop the an entirely digital curriculum. Vanguard is expected to be the first school in the nation to develop a comprehensive digital curriculum, according to teacher Mark Kosirog. The staff will develop the curriculum over the 2012-2013 school year, and the following year every Vanguard student will receive an iPad to use for all Vanguard coursework. » Continue Reading
